  <paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id3150214" role="paragraph">You can apply preset animation effects to objects on your slide. </paragraph>
  <h2 id="hd_id3154762">To apply an animation effect to an object: </h2>
  <list type="ordered">

    <paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id3146964" role="listitem">On a slide in <emph>Normal</emph> view, select the object you want to animate.</paragraph>
   </listitem>
   <listitem>
    <paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id3149875" role="listitem">Choose <emph>Format - Animation</emph>, to open the Custom Animation pane in the Sidebar. Click on <emph>Add (+)</emph> button, and then select an animation effect.</paragraph>
   </listitem>
   <listitem>
    <paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id3166462" role="listitem">In the <emph>Custom Animation</emph> dialog, click a tab page to choose from a category of effects. Click an effect, then click <emph>OK</emph>.</paragraph>
   </listitem>

  <paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id3156060" role="paragraph">To preview the animation, click the <emph>Play</emph> button.</paragraph>
  <note id="par_id3148826123">On Slide Pane an <image id="img_id3151172123" src="sd/res/click_16.png" width="0.5cm" height="0.5cm"/> icon appears next to the preview of those slides, which have one or more objects with custom animation. When you present the slide show with the Presenter Console, <image id="img_id3151172235" src="sd/res/presenterscreen-Animation.png"/> icon indicates that the next slide has custom animation.</note>
  <h2 id="hd_id2476577">To apply and edit a motion path effect:</h2>
  <paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id4217047" role="paragraph">An object can be animated to move along a motion path. You can use predefined or your own motion paths.</paragraph>
  <paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id2629474" role="paragraph">If you select "Curve", "Polygon", or "Freeform Line", the dialog closes and you can draw your own path. If the drawing is finished and not canceled, the created path is removed from the document and inserted as a motion path effect.</paragraph>
  <paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id8069704" role="paragraph"> <emph>Editing motion paths</emph> </paragraph>
  <paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id4524674" role="paragraph">If the Custom Animation Panel is visible, the motion paths of all effects of the current slide are drawn as a transparent overlay on the slide. All paths are visible all the time, therefore animations with consecutive paths can be created easily. </paragraph>
  <paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id4396801" role="paragraph">A motion path can be selected by clicking on the path. A selected path will support handles, it can be moved and resized like a shape. A double click on a path starts the point edit mode. The point edit mode can also be started by <item type="menuitem">Edit - Points</item> or by pressing <item type="keycode">F8</item>.</paragraph>
  <h2 id="hd_id3148387">To remove an animation effect from an object:</h2>

    <paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id3148774" role="listitem">On a slide in <emph>Normal</emph> view, select the object from which to remove the effect.</paragraph>
   </listitem>
   <listitem>
    <paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id3155372" role="listitem">Choose <emph>Slide Show - Custom Animation</emph>.</paragraph>
   </listitem>
   <listitem>
    <paragraph xml-lang="en-US" id="par_id3153718" role="listitem">Click <emph>Remove</emph>.</paragraph>
